To then assign account numbers in QuickBooks Online, click the “Settings” button again. Then click the “Done” button in the lower-right corner of the window to close it. Then click the “Save” button at the bottom of this section to save your changes.
To show account numbers in transaction forms and reports, then check the “Show account numbers” checkbox. Click the “Enable account numbers” toggle switch to set it to the “On” position to enable account numbering. Next, click the “Chart of Accounts” section that appears to the right to edit its settings. Then click the “Advanced” link at the left side of the “Account and Settings” window that opens.
